Auto captions on every AI video, timed to the voice
Most short-form video is watched with the sound off at least some of the time. Captions keep those viewers. ShortsMachine adds captions to every narrated video automatically — there is nothing to transcribe, sync or style.
Captions are split into short chunks of about five words, timed across each scene’s narration, and burned into the video in bold white text with a dark outline so they stay readable on any background.
Caption style
- Bold, high-contrast text sized for phone screens.
- Placed in the lower third, clear of the bottom app controls on vertical video.
- Short chunks so viewers can read at a glance.
- Burned into the MP4, so they show on every platform without uploading a subtitle file.
Why burned-in captions
Platform auto-captions are optional for viewers, inconsistent across apps and often mistranscribe names. Burned-in captions are part of the picture: what you see in the preview is exactly what every viewer sees, on every platform you post to.
Why captions matter for short-form video
Short-form feeds autoplay videos, often muted, in noisy places or late at night. Captions let those viewers follow along instead of scrolling past. They also help viewers who are deaf or hard of hearing, and people watching in a second language.
Large, short caption chunks are easier to read on a phone than full sentences, and they add a sense of pace that keeps eyes on the screen.
How the timing works
ShortsMachine measures the length of each scene’s narration, splits the line into chunks of about five words and spreads them across the scene in proportion to the number of words. The captions follow the voice closely without needing a separate transcription step.
Frequently asked questions
Can I change the caption font or colour?
Not at the moment. Captions use one high-contrast style designed for readability on phone screens.
Are captions available in other languages?
Yes. Captions follow the narration language you choose, in any of the 11 supported languages.
Can I get a subtitle file (SRT) instead?
Captions are currently burned into the video only, so they appear identically on every platform.
